Hypnosis has been used in Sport since 1956, starting in the Melbourne Olympic Games. It has been documented that the Russians have used many hypnotic techniques to improve the performance of their champions. There is a lot of myth and legend around hypnosis suggesting it is a form of magic able to make you do things you are incapable of however this is entirely myth. Atheletes ulilise equipment, nutrition, training advances, sports psycology along with visualisation techniques, the latter two are both hypnosis techniques.
Anyone can use hypnosis to enhance performance. You do not need to be a professional athlete.

Which type of therapy is suitable for Sports performance?
The most effective type of therapy is tailored to your individual situation and needs. Many people find Hypnotherapy and NLP as a talking therapy, works to effectively enhance their sports performance. Everyone responds differently to therapy so the number of sessions you will require will vary from person to person. Hypnosis for pain management usually lasts between 3 and 6 sessions. We will discuss this in the initial consultation.
